
At some point you just become tired of shooting at stuff. But, for the most part, some players want to taste something different from time to time. Of course, all of this does not make any sense if you build an aggressive character that beats to a pulp everything in its way. But if you approach it as a mere shooter where you build a hulk character that kills everything that breaths, you're missing out. It tries to make the player get into the lore and world building. How do you beat the next obstacle?īloodlines really captures this. Think, if you have chosen a manipulative and insidious vampire race, became kings by pure persuasion and political backstabbing, what would you character do?. In an RPG you're supposed to roleplay your character. Because, whatever you do in character development, the only way you can interact with the world that the game has built for you is, by destroying every obstacle. In practice, most action games are beaten by just "clicking the enemies" or pressing the right button combination to do some kind of special attack. Does the character have a skill tree? RPG. Can you level up and spend experience points? RPG.
